Meeting of generations marks Papo João Rock ![]() A influenciadora Valen Bandeira vai discutir a evolução da música, o consumo cultural e o impacto das redes sociais | Crédito: Divulgação The first act, “Generations: The Reinterpretation of Classic Formats”, brings together Marina Person and Valen Bandeira to discuss the evolution of music — from vinyl to streaming —, cultural consumption and the impact of social media. Marina, who was one of MTV’s main VJs in the 1990s, and Valen, a phenomenon on digital platforms with over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and current host of the new “Beija Sapo”, represent two distinct moments in the cultural scene. Together, they outline an overview of how different generations consume, produce and connect with music.
The second panel, “The Future of Festivals: Music, Culture and Experiences”, addresses the transformation of major events and the creation of immersive experiences. Participating in the conversation are Fernanda Paiva, co-founder of Flint and artistic director of Musicalize, Claudia Assef, editor-in-chief of Billboard Brazil, and Alexandre Nickel, content creator and member of Squad Eisenbahn, official sponsor of João Rock. ![]() Representante do novo rap nacional, MC Soffia também participará do Papo João Rock no CCBB SP | Crédito: Divulgação Closing the program, the third act, “Music and Social Transformations”, addresses the power of art as an agent of change. The chat will feature Fioti, musician, producer and co-founder of LAB Fantasma — a label and production company that manages the careers of artists from various segments — and MC Soffia, a representative of the new national rap, with lyrics of empowerment and combating prejudice.
“Papo João Rock is a natural extension of what the festival represents: far beyond music, we want to expand conversations that inspire transformation and strengthen the Brazilian cultural scene”, highlights Marcelo Rocci, one of the organizers of João Rock.
In addition to the panels, the event will feature live artistic interventions, brand activations and a pocket show. “We chose São Paulo for this first edition outside of Ribeirão Preto, where the festival takes place, precisely because it is a vibrant center of culture, innovation and diversity,” adds Vanessa Toledo, Head Consumer Insights at the festival.
